The EU treaty (known as the "Maastricht Treaty") gives every EU citizen the right to vote and stand as a candidate in local, municipal (if applicable) and European Parliament elections in the EU country where they are currently a resident, under the same conditions as nationals of that country.
There are three types of elections in Greece:
Citizens of EU member states residing in Greece are entitled to vote in Municipal and Prefectural Elections and European Parliamentary Elections.
Foreigners are not entitled to vote in national elections.
